So do you really know how many people or prospects you need to talk with or have a sales conversation with every month in order to meet the number of sales and revenue that you want to bring in?

  • Do you know your closing ratio?
  • Your expenses?
  • Your profit margin?

It’s my experience that most small business owners don’t typically know these things. If you do, great. However most don’t plan ahead and crunch their numbers which is something that’s crucial in my mind if you want to reach a certain amount of sales or revenues every month.

When I coach with clients I first like to find out your ‘need’ number.
The amount of money you really NEED to bring in every month to pay the bills, contribute to the household and not stress out. Then we discuss your ‘want’ number. But if we don’t figure out how to get you to the ‘need’ number first, how the heck do you expect to get to the WANT number?

In order to do that we need to know first of all what you’re selling and how much it is. It could be multiple things of course but we want to figure out what realistically you can sell in one month.


Are you good at selling?
Do people buy from your website automatically or do you need to have more of an interactive sales conversation with your prospects in order for them to make a purchase?

Sometimes its not about the marketing at all, sometimes its about the client’s sales process or confidence around selling and asking for the sale.
You want to look at that seriously and how well you sell. As an entrepreneur you have to sell and market so it’s important to figure out how to get better at it.

There are a few things I teach that help people, especially those who are more hesitant with sales and more timid. It’s ok and it’s possible to be humble, honest, authentic, non-salesy and still make a ton of sales.


So where are you with crunching your numbers, knowing your numbers and knowing your sales process in and out? Be honest with yourself.


Your Action Step Today Is: Figure out what you may need to learn more about in regards to your numbers, plotting out how much you need to sell, having that sales conversation, etc. and then go get help. I can help you or a number of people could help you with much of this but you have to ask for help. This stuff isn’t just going to come to you over time, its learned.
