Toy Drive & Christmas Lights Event Sunday, December 12th in Sacramento, CA

COME ONE, COME ALL TO THE 4TH ANNUAL ROSIE CAROLLO CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND TOY DRIVE EVENT

3961 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento, 95864 – Sunday, December 12Th from 5pm to 9pm

My friends Nicole and George put on this beautiful and bright Christmas lights display and toy drive every year in memory of their daughter Rosie who passed a few years ago. If you are in or around the Sacramento area, please come by, bring toys or just come see the lights in support for them.  Thanks!  ~ Katrina

Over 15,000 in lights bright as a matter of fact! Their display includes a full size nativity scene, flying reindeer, gingerbread village, and much more! On this special evening they hand out cookies and hot chocolate while taking donations of new and unwrapped toys for the Sutter Memorial Children’s Hospital in memory of Rosie.

At just 5 months old Rosie was diagnosed with a devastating form of childhood epilepsy called Infantile Spasms. During her 15 month fight Nicole and George spent a lot of time at Sutter Memorial Hospital including one Easter. They had been so busy with Rosie’s medical needs that we did not even have time to get an Easter basket for her. That morning staff from the Child Life Program walked into Rosie’s hospital room with a huge Easter basket filled with toys and treats. They did this for every child and baby in the hospital that day! This is only one example of the countless wonderful gifts the Child Life Program at Sutter Memorial provides for the children and babies at their hospital.

Beautiful Rosie passed away in April of 2004 and ever since then they wanted to find a way to share her story and help other children like her. So began in 2007 The Rosie Carollo Christmas Lights and Toy Drive Event! Last year’s toy drive brought in over 1,000 items and easily over 200 guests enjoying hot chocolate and Christmas lights all in the spirit of giving!

This year the Child Life Program is in special need of crib side soothers such as the Fisher Price aquarium or rain forest soother, non-fabric infant toys, toy doctor kits, boardgames, arts and crafts kits, comfy slippers for school aged and teen patients, toys of current characters loved by children, and DVDs for children of all ages.

So bundle up the kids and come on by for some tasty hot chocolate and enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights. For those who would like to donate a toy, but are unable to attend the event we will have a drop off bin out by our garage the entire month of December.

What else can you do to help? Please spread the word!!!  Tweet about this or link it out to your Facebook Friends.  Tell you family and friends about this special night and forward this e-mail to anyone who has children or just likes Christmas lights! Together we can help brighten up the holiday season for the many brave children and babies at Sutter Memorial Hospital!

Thank you so much from the Carollo Family
